Case Studies

We have provided a range of case studies to show the portfolio of work we undertake with clients in one or more areas: spanning social impact measurement, change management and design of management processes and systems.

65% of our work is generated through client referrals or repeat business.

Economic Change has worked with ICSF in 2015 and two of their franchisee clients – A Band of Brothers and RECLAIM to improve processes and implement Salesforce.

Economic Change implemented Salesforce for ICSF to help them manage their sales pipeline with multi-currencies and HR requirements. We also installed a third party app Mission Control, for project management.

‘We had tried various other systems to manage our growing organisation that hadn’t worked. Economic Change suggested Salesforce and took time to not only make sure it worked for us but adapted their approach to fit exactly what we needed. We are now fully up and running with the new system and it’s changing the way we work for the better. It will completely change the way we work’

Dan Berelowitz, CEO, ICSF – International Centre for Social Franchising

We helped UpRising to successfully secure funding through the Growth Accelerator programme , to assist with the upfront planning and design stage of this work. This initial work helped them to secure further funding for the implementation of the project.

‘Economic Change delivered a high quality service, providing technical expertise along with an understanding of implementing organisation change, which enabled us to achieve much more than we expected.
I found working with the team to be a most rewarding experience, their focus and technical expertise is impressive and inspiring. It also helped us to develop organisational development skills to support us through a challenging project e.g. coaching and leading us through organisational change. They added value through suggesting potential sources of funding that made it possible to implement the CRM system.’
Barbara Regnier, Head of Corporate Services, UpRising

We worked with SEK in 2015 to help establish new management processes and systems using Salesforce CRM.

Our work included:

Facilitated sessions with managers to redefine management processes using Salesforce CRM.
  Designing a CRM Specification
Customisation of Salesforce CRM to manage sales pipline, fundraising, training events, HR, service delivery for local authority contracts & social impact.
Adopting third party apps to enhance the value of Salesforce, using Linvio & online survey tool Form Assembly.
•  Training and supporting the implementation of the system.

We helped SEK to successfully secure funding through Social Investment Business to achieve this project.

‘The support and expertise of Economic Change has been invaluable. The team have been instrumental in the success of this project. Now we will be able to accurately measure our social impact and as a result grow our social enterprise and help more beneficiaries. The process mapping element of the project has allowed us to review how efficient we are, and make improvements accordingly.

The management team can at a glance see how well their teams are going, both financially and socially. Overall this has been a very successful project for Social Enterprise Kent and I would like to thank Social Investment Business and Economic Change CIC for allowing us to do it.

We now feel better able to assess our social impact and apply more competitively for bids and tenders’ Rebecca Smith, Director of Learning and Development, Social Enterprise Kent

The Grace Eyre Foundation have experienced continued growth over the last few years. They have diverse income streams with two social enterprise spin-outs – a theatre and social housing, and they hold public sector contracts for supporting the welfare of disabled adults across Sussex. With spending cuts and increased competition, they are facing pressures to cut costs and have looked to streamline and improve their processes and systems to manage internal operations.

We provided a combination of coaching and training with the Grace Eyre Foundation management team to develop an organisation-wide social impact strategy, change management strategy, streamline their management processes, and develop a CRM specification for implementing a new system

“Grace Eyre Foundation have had the expert advice and guidance from the Economic Change team whilst developing our business strategies, organisational processes, CRM and our impact reporting. I have found their professionalism and skills invaluable in guiding us through the process. I don’t think we could have done it without them.” Eva Jarvis, CEO, Grace Eyre

Economic Change CIC was commissioned by Mind in Harrow to undertake an Impact Evaluation Report and Market Feasability Study to replicate the Head for Work Programme funded by the Big Lottery. We interviewed a range of stakeholders, undertook a competitor analysis, appraised the options and defined a possible franchising package and financial model. We then since evaluated four other programmes for them involving support for refugees and mental health.

“I was impressed with the team’s grasp of the brief, which was completed within a tight timeframe to produce two informative and very well presented reports. The team is pleasant to work with and made every effort to respond to our feedback during the project. We have have used the evaluation reports to successfully secure a further £260k for the Head for Work Programme and to date a further 50% funding for the Hayaan Project. Mark Gillham, CEO, Mind in Harrow

With in depth knowledge of government funding streams and contracts and their advice has been invaluable to us. In addition, they worked to a very tight deadline which we greatly appreciated. We highly recommend and will use them again in the future.‘ Mckenzie Cerri, Co-founder, Graydin

We worked with Envision to design and implement Salesforce for their contract management team to report on client data, volunteers, activities and impact. We trained an in-house champion in administration skills to further implement salesforce for other departments. We also designed and integrated clicktools online surveys to capture beneficiary data. It has since been adopted by other departments including marketing.

“Economic Change helped build and customise our Salesforce platform for us. Their approach was both supportive and logical, increasingly building our knowledge so that we are left with something we are comfortable using and amending. They definitely know this area incredibly well and really helped us get the most out of Salesforce. Add to that charges that are very good value and I would definitely recommend them.” Phillip Kerry, Operations Director, Envision

Action Hampshire wanted to introduce a new CRM to manage different stakeholder interactions and communications, report on delivery and outcomes on funded projects, manage sales and funding pipeline, provide a new HR system, and create a new membership community.

“Economic Change has worked hard to understand our aims and objectives for using Salesforce and customised the system so it can help us work more efficiently and effectively as an organisation. The team are very approachable, do not use overly-technical language and understand the importance of being clear about the business processes which underpin the use of Salesforce. They have a good understanding of the not for profit sector and its specific needs.” Rosie Taylor, Action Hants
